Anarchy is here. Kronos was caught red-handed cheating in the games and has lost the right to be the ruling god. With Ouranos back in control things haven't changed much, but they have changed a little. If he knows how to send you home, he hasn't said, but he has restored the city and the amenities people have grown to enjoy. Danger still lurks below the island and in the deep jungle, but for now the city is safe and filled with life.

Back to business New Atlanteans. The Island is yours now.

What happens from here on out is mostly up to you.

ALC has always been a musebox open to your use, but since we went into radio silence and some people are still looking to play, this is just a quick toss up notice that ALC is here for you! To use (or not use) at your leisure.

Even though the plots have stopped, the musebox doesn't have to. You can still come play, use the world and everything in it, and even toss up your own plots! Atlantis has always existed as a safe, fun place for people to come have a good time with their friends, and that was never meant to stop.

Get silly or feelsy or creative.

Just remember to have fun!

So remember that one time when shit went down and everybody had to kill everybody else and there was this crazy barrier and bracelets and WHY ARE THERE KIDS HERE OH MY GOD WHO WOULD DO THIS?

Well it's about time we tied up all those loose ends so people can move on while they backtag all those things. So here's the idea and you guys get to fill in the blanks

Just imagine it's a really morbid Mad Lib

ONCE UPON A TIME a bunch of people got kidnapped and dragged into the forest and told they had to fight to the death. Some people formed alliances, some took off on their own, some got eaten by a big fucking bear or a spinosaurus (Jo, Merida, we're looking at you). And some people just got into the spirit and went murder happy (Jack, Riddick, way to participate)

So, a lot of people died, and some people didn't, we know that much, and we can find out more in the comments below. (Seriously. there is a graveyard comment. Please use it)

BUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE GAMES?

Well. Tony and some other people (Please tell me he had help because you can not leave him in charge of that) managed to hijack the bracelets and short circuit them and took the rainforest by (force? technology? endless swan lake renditions?) and busted the survivors out of there.

After that, there were some furiously pissed off Messengers of the Gods but strangely most of the gods? They didn't actually seem to care, and once the people got dragged out of the rainforest the majority of them went back to their vacation.

So what does this mean? No one is really sure how much of that was the God's plan, and Hull is throwing a massive Ball to celebrate the fact that the Games got averted. Meanwhile, the natives are a little leery of the transplants. You guys are CRAZY psychos.

A lot of new temples popped up around the island, including one to Athena in Ouranos district. Where did that even come from?

Now Go my minions, and plot and plan to your devious hearts content

Important Game Wide Announcement!
Atlantis is switching over to 2:1 Time from here on Out.
One In Character Week now takes place over Two Out of Character Weeks.

Trials and Tribulations

The Tribute Games have come, and set the island back to a time of ritual and sacrifice.
Will you keep your head low, or fight the oncoming tribute.

Events of note of the past four weeks:

NPCs
Kronos [personal profile] epanastatis was deliberately a dick to a lot of people.
Dex the Raptor [personal profile] dexignated has joined the Fleet, ground division, separate to Hull.
Witt, among those to die during the spread of the virus, unexpectedly returned with the batch of transports whose deaths were not permanent.

Atlantis
The Croatoan virus took a heavy toll on the natural population as well. All in all, the island's population was cut in half during the virus, and after the return of many of the deceased transplants, the population is still down by almost 1/4th what it was. For the first time in years there is a considerable bit of disgruntled murmuring among the natives and not so friendly stares in the direction of the transplants.
The First Atlantean Hospital, the Justice Center, The Libraries of Atlantis, Elektronik's Emporium and the Atlantean Fleets (Air, Aquarian and Gaian) are all still hiring, among many other places that lost employees in the terrible virus.
Reminder that the underground caverns have some new inhabitants. We recommend you take a flashlight and a blowtorch if you plan to explore.

Atlantis Weeks 25 & 26

A Tribute to the Gods
Trials and Tribulations
Week 25-26
A little after Helios has put the sun to rest for the night on Sunday, a change will sweep the island. It won't be noticeable, really, until Monday morning (7/9). Because the buildings, technology and transplants all remain untouched, but strangely, when the morning comes, the island is positively brimming with native Atlanteans. Most would be unfamiliar faces to those who have been here a while, though the familiar figure heads remain. It seems as if the island is at the peak of it's days. The skies are crystal clear when the sun rises and everyone is smiling. The only spot of darkness is the thin trail of smoke coming from the allegedly dormant Mt. Olympus.

Despite the cheerful faces, however, the island is quiet. The people go about their work without speaking and if you try to speak with any of the natives, their eyes will go wide and they will shake their heads and move away. Make a game of it, if you want, though some of the younger children may run away, and the older men may get aggressive.

As night falls on Monday (7/10), lanterns go up, covered in symbols of ancient Greek and Atlantean mingled together, with quite a few they do not appear to be quite either. A massive banquet will be laid out for any who wish to join, and the spell of silence will be broken with laughter and song, jokes and warm conversation. The banquet will continue to be set well into the dawning hours, with a good crowd sticking it out. And as the sun rises over the bay, the Natives will bow their heads in silence and then wander back to their homes.

Tuesday morning (7/11) will see the island a virtual ghost town. No one but transplants roam the streets. Window shutters are shut, doors closed, shops closed as well. The only natives wandering the streets will have somber faces and ignore any who try to interact with them completely. To the point of allowing themselves to be attacked. Their faces painted a vivid, bright blue, and their dress nothing but simple tunics. Plain, beige and unremarkable.

These are the servants of the Gods, and to interfere with their work is to declare your disdain for the very beings responsible for the livelihood of the island.

What they are doing is unclear, until high noon. Anyone out on the streets when the sun is at its highest point will find one of these silent servants suddenly invading their space. A single touch of the hand is all it takes, and no matter who you are, be it young student trying to go for a walk, or highly advanced super computer in an impenetrable shell of metal, you will find yourself whisked away in a gust of wind that forces your eyes to close. Open them, and you will find yourself standing among others in a clearing, deep within the island's treacherous rainforest.

But there's a far deeper catch to this than sudden an unpleasant displacement. You are now a champion of the gods. on your arm rests a bracelet with the symbols of one of the Greek Gods or Goddesses, a light weight material that has no seams and fits close to the skin. Beige for Gaia District, Dusty blue for Ouranos District, and Slate black for Kronos district. The bracelet only matters to the point of which God or Goddess of the island has chosen to favor your character. The other symbols could have another meaning, but you will not have much time to dwell on that.

Because after an address from the Servants of the Gods, you will learn what is in store for you. A game of tribute, to chose the champion of the Gods. The bracelets will keep any who have been pulled into the games withing the forest, and any attempts to leave will have unpleasant consequences for whoever dares to try it.

There is only one rule in the tribute games, kill or be killed. Refusal to participate will mean a far slower and more painful death for those who refuse and any who stand with them.

The incentive? The favor of the Gods.

No small token to be trifled with, for the Gods control the island and everything on it. They are the ones who choose who comes, and who goes. Survive the games, emerge victorious, and the world is at your fingertips. Lose the games, and only death will wait you.

Gods are vengeful creatures whose tempers are quite literally the stuff of legends.

You would be wise not to piss them off, for a simple death would be a mercy. Weapons are scattered through the rainforest, and the people as well. Kill or be killed is the law of the Rainforest, and you are not the only one playing. The only way out is to fight your way out, and it is not only your opponent you have to survive.

After all, the Rainforest has never been a safe place. And it isn't going to start now.

Do your plotting in this post.

The Devil Inside

During weeks 21 & 22 (June 9th through June 23rd), a very unique sort of plague will be sweeping its way across Atlantis in the form of the Croatoan virus. The virus is bloodborne and demonic in origin, requiring blood-to-blood contact to spread. Those who are infected will behave as though possessed, retaining their normal personalities, thoughts and memories until the ideal moment to strike arrives, at which point they will feel compelled to spread the virus to those who are not yet infected – in most cases, violently.

The Plot Post with more details about this plot is over here.

Events of note of the past four weeks:

NPCs
Kronos [personal profile] epanastatis is now wandering openly around the island, though he hasn't revealed who he is to anyone yet.
Dex the Raptor [personal profile] dexignated now knows how to use the network.
Admiral [personal profile] hull  opened up a hospital and started hiring staff for both the Hospital and the Justice Center
Mor'Du joined the ranks of Atlantis' NPC creatures.

Atlantis
Lots of new arrivals
Atlantis now has a hospital
The underground caverns have some new inhabitants. We recommend you take a flashlight and a blowtorch if you plan to explore.

Atlantis Weeks 21-24

Croatoan Virus
Week 21-22
Hope you enjoyed the brief respite from horror and terror because the next two weeks will be a literal hell. Lucifer ( [personal profile] callme  ) has brought the Croatoan Virus to Atlantis and it's going to start spreading like wildfire, turning people on each other. Your best friend, brother, parent or neighbor might be infected, and you wouldn't even know it right away. If you're lucky enough to not be infected, you get to deal with the fallout.

At 11:59 PM on June 23rd, anyone who is infected that has not been killed during the event will succumb to the virus and die, only to wake up in the catacombs three days later on the morning of the 26th. Anyone who is killed during the course of the event itself will wake up in the catacombs on the 24th.

Week 21:
6/9 - 6/15
Cold front comes rolling in with the virus
The temperature will be in the 50F ~ 10C range
The night sky will feature: A blood red moon, full moon on Saturday. Earth constellations

Week 22:
6/16 - 6/22
Colder, gloomy, dark skies, cloudy and damp.
The temperature will be in the 40-50F ~ 4-10C range and damp
The night sky will feature: Blood red moon, full moon on Sunday, Earth constellations

Week 23:
6/23 - 6/29
Warming up but still cloudy.
The temperature will be in the 60-70F ~ 15-20C range and humid/cloudy
The night sky will feature: Earth constellations, waning moon

Week 24:
6/30 - 7/6
Warm, pleasant weather
The temperature will be in the 75F ~24C range with a gentle breeze, blue skies and white fluffy clouds
The night sky will feature: Familiar stars and early summer weather.

Hello, Atlantis!

There is no antidote for the virus, but those who choose to study it will notice that it leaves traces of sulfur in the blood, which takes three to four hours to manifest, meaning that while someone may be infected, it will take time for tests to confirm or deny their status. The only sure way to stop the spread of the virus is death: killing someone who is either infected or carrying the virus is the only way to ensure that they won’t go on to spread it to other victims, meaning that characters close to the infected will be forced to make difficult choices.

Though the virus itself is bloodborne, the first batch of victims will find themselves infected even without having had any blood-to-blood contact beforehand. It’s entirely up to you to decide whether you want your character to be a part of the initial group of victims, or whether you want them to become infected later on in the event. Additionally, you can opt out if you don’t want your character to be effected at all – they can lock themselves up somewhere good and tight and avoid the whole thing.

There are some biological limitations, as well, though not many. Anyone who is a demon, part-demon, demon-possessed or otherwise has demon blood in them will be immune to the virus, as they already possess demonic presence of some kind. Additionally, any characters who are undead or have inborn powers that allow them to heal or regenerate (such as werewolves or certain mutants) have the ability to be carriers without actually being infected themselves – which means that they can accidentally infect someone if they’re injured and not careful about where they bleed. However, if you play a character who falls under this category and would like them to be fully infected, by all means! It’s certainly possible.

Those who are infected become something like zombies, though they still breathe air and appear quite human. They seem to operate with a hivemind mentality and nearly all of them will feel compelled to work together to spread the virus to the furthest reaches of the island. Though they may operate on their own, they all share a common goal and will do what they can to keep people contained in the city and further the spread of the virus.

At 11:59 PM on June 23rd, anyone who is infected that has not been killed during the event will succumb to the virus and die, only to wake up in the catacombs three days later on the morning of the 26th. Anyone who is killed during the course of the event itself will wake up in the catacombs on the 24th.

Looking for someone to blame for this particular mess? Look no further, Atlantis. Lucifer is going to be more than happy to take the fall for this one. Feel free to share your feelings with him on the matter when it’s all over! We’re sure he’d love to hear from you.

Feel free to use this post to ask questions, make suggestions and plot! This is an event that will rely heavily on characters' own actions and decisions, rather than having something obvious for everyone to band together against, so everything that happens? Well, now. That's up to you. ;)

This is regarding how time moves in ALC!

As you guys know it's mod-goal to make sure this place stays fun and doable for everyone who wants to play, so together we have come up with an idea that might slow pacing up a bit and help people not feel so left behind.

I am posting this with Tony's account so I can put an actual poll.

So we can either keep on with 1:1 time ic:ooc ratio as we've been doing, or, switch to one week in game is 2 weeks ooc.

I wanted to test the waters and see what you guys think, so here is a poll and please also comment with any thoughts or suggestions?

Poll #13532 Time in ALC
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 11

Should we switch how time moves in ALC?

Daemons of Atlantis
Anchoring Your Daemons

Starting today people's Daemons will begin to disappear anytime between now and the end of May. If you do not want your character's Daemon to go away you must sign up here!

For anyone who was interested in their characters keeping their Daemons beyond this plot, any character keeping their Daemon must take part in a plot post which will anchor their Daemon to them and keep them from fading back inside of them like everyone else's Daemons.

Things you should keep in mind before signing up for this:
Your character can not be separated from your Daemon. This means your character's Daemon will always be with them. It physically hurts for a person and their Daemon to be a large distance away from one another. The farther the stretch the more it hurts. This doesn't go away unless you undergo the long and painful process witches of the HDM go through and it's not recommended to try it.
Your Daemon and your character are one. If your character dies or is injured so is their daemon and vice versa. Daemons turn to dust when they die.
Other people touching your Daemon is a massive breach of comfort and can hurt your character.
Daemon's have their own personalities and attitudes, but they are your character's soul and a reflection of it.
The only way to get rid of your Character's Daemon after this plot is to kill your character and not have the Daemon come back with them. But if you decide to do that you can't just decide to give them a Daemon again later.
People who realize your character's Daemon can be used to hurt them, will probably make use of this knowledge.

This plot is over here.

You Can't Hide What's Inside You

While Atlantis is pulling itself back together after the plague of fire of the previous month, the citizens of Atlantis have pulled together to help one another out. Finding new homes, repairing shops and generally pulling together to put the city back in one piece.

An unusual Aurora Borealis appears in the sky Sunday morning and throughout the week people will be waking to new companions in their beds. Souls are manifesting themselves outside of people's bodies in the form of Daemons.

Daemons come in animal forms of all kinds. Mammals, reptiles, even insects. Children's Daemons can change forms into whatever animal reflects their mood, inner feelings, or intent at the time. Adult's Daemons are 'settled' into a form that reflects who the person is inside. (The inner-self of a human is physically manifested in the form of an animal called a dæmon). People who listen to orders and are followers tend to have canine daemons, a shy or reserved person might have a mouse or a butterfly, an adventurous and bold person might have a big cat, like a lion.

When your character wakes up, their Daemon will know everything there is to know about  them. They are as much a part of them as their own head. You two are connected. A person's dæmon is usually of the opposite sex to its human; however, in some cases it may be the same sex as the person. Any pain you feel, your Daemon feels and any harm that comes to your Daemon you will feel. If you die, your Daemon dies with you. Neither can bear to be distanced by more than several yards (it causes physical pain). It is extremely improper to touch another person's Daemon and will cause the other person discomfort. (Daemon, however, frequently interact with one another).

interactions between dæmons usually accentuate and illuminate the relationships between the characters, and have also been used as a means of passing information between humans without being overheard.

When a person dies, their dæmon fades away, like "atoms of smoke."

Daemons persist throughout week 16 and will continue to hang around any characters who have gained one for the next few weeks until the end of week 20, when they will disappear once more as if they had never been there at all.

It should be noted there IS a possibility your character might keep their Daemons. It requires participation in a plot. There is a sign up in the post below and another post will go up before the plot happens. (It'll be pretty simple, really. It's more to make keeping track easier.)

This is a reminder that Daemons are not pets. They are the manifestation of your character's soul and they both can and will talk and have their own personality quirks and opinions (some even act as a sort of conscience for their counterparts at times.) Please keep this in mind when you are putting them into play.

Events of note of the past four weeks:

NPCs
Air Marshal Nicholas[personal profile] witt  vanished for most of the first week of the dragon's attack and was not at all himself when he returned, volunteering for a suicide mission to attempt to catch the dragon and putting the lives of his men and himself at risk. After being detained by his Second in command, Jack ( [personal profile] thepartyprince ) Witt has been under the watchful eye of Native Atlantean, Owen ([personal profile] pateras )

Thanks to the sharp-shooting of[personal profile] bowsbeforehoes  the dragon[personal profile] fireandash  problem was finally nullified (with the help of the remaining avengers). After its death, the body of the dragon remained on Ouranos summit for three days until a mysterious building appeared in its place.

Atlantis
There has been an influx of Greek Gods that can only spell potential trouble for Atlantis' future
Charles Xavier is opening a new school (details to come) that your characters are invited to attend.
Atlantis has picked up an extensive amount of new buildings to replace the burnt out shell of Ouranos District.
Everyone who was killed in the Fury of Mt. Olympus came back to life (yay)

As you know, Atlantis doesn't just pick up people, it picks up places, too.

Atlantis is going to be struck with a sudden and massive influx of buildings. If your character was in Ouranos district, they may suddenly find themselves in or on top of a building that wasn't there seconds ago.

Some of the new landmarks you may notice:

Image Heavy Post )

Naturally, many other buildings have also appeared, so feel free to have fun with it (Within reason. No skyscrapers.)

Starting tomorrow, the dragon is fair game. The protection that has kept him from taking much damage will finally have worn off, but that doesn't mean it is going to be easy. This great beast outlasted Nukes in the world he is from. Not only that, but with that protection vanishing, the compulsion to keep to Ouranos District alone is gone.

He only has one real weakness, and there are only two people on the island who know exactly what that is. (One of which will be posting to the network sometime this weekend

This plot is a very fluid plot. What this means is your character's actions/inactions will affect the shape of the game to come. The longer it takes to defeat the dragon, the more destruction the island will suffer from.

Things going on:
The majority of Ouranos district, including the buildings, the farms and the summit have been reduced to ash
The Air Fleet, with Admiral Hull's assistance, has organized with a very dangerous plot to lure and trap the dragon
Hull and Witt are no longer MIA. Witt has not been acting like himself at all since his re-appearance and the fleet are on edge.
Barricades and Fire-fighting squads have been pulled together across the island with the aid of Annabeth and Enjolras
Clint and Kate faced the dragon at some point last week and managed to escape harm, but did little more than tear a few small spots on his wings and piss him off
Thor (and little Loki) challenged the dragon. Thor had his Asgardian ass handed to him.
Dean ran interference on a bold Arya Stark's attempts to challenge the dragon.
I may have missed a few things but that sums up what I know.

USE THIS POST for plotting dragon attack strategies or game plans for keeping the city safe. Or whatever else you want to use it for.

The dragon is not going away until he has been defeated. Hop to it, junior dragon fighters.

Hello Atlanteans
A Lost City Mods here with a post to check out what you guys think of us.

This is Jess mod, and I'd really like some feedback from you guys so here's what we're going to do.
I'd like to hear at least one thing you like and one thing you don't like about how the game is set-up/run/going
This can be anything from layouts, updates, the navigation, to the plotting posts, events and memes.

I'd also love to hear any suggestions you might have for the game.

If you have any comments you'd rather make Anonymously you can do that over here!

A LOT has happened lately so I have here for you a little Gamer's Digest I put together of what's been going on recently.

In NPC/Story News, A couple months back Air Marshall [personal profile] downs disappeared from the island. [personal profile] hull held a job opening open to the entire island as a gesture of good faith and a young pilot named Nicholas [personal profile] witt was appointed as his replacement. Some may have recognized him from The Beach Incident that ended in the death of five Atlantean fisherman, or as the man who organized the failed voyage off the island.

In Game news a few major things have happened.
The Player Contact & Taken Character pages have gotten a new, cleaner look (If you can take some time to check and update your characters and contact info it would be much appreciated)
We now have a Character Drop page for people who want to free up a character they no longer want to play.
The Week 13-16 Plotting Post is up (We are currently in Week 12) With a very important plot that is going to change the face of Atlantis and directly affect the game as a whole.
A Reminder that useful resources such as The Island Housing Post and the Locations Post are helpful resources that are free for players to add things to and help the island grow and shape. As well as find excuses for CR you might not have been sure how to acquire.
Anyone Who is or Appears to be Under the Age of 18 (Or the Guardians of such individuals) will have gotten a letter strongly encouraging that they attend the Atlas Tiered School

And in case you missed it, we now have a new community!
[community profile] alostnetwork The Social Network of New Moore.
This comm is game canon In Character and functions like facebook/twitter/tumblr in our world (Here called Connect, Wavsurfr and Echo). The Social Networks were created by Atlantis' own Dolphin Jones, who you will often see trolling the networks.
This is not meant to replace your character's phone/communications. Text, Audio and Video posts still go on the main comm as they always have. It's just for a bit of extra fun. Enjoy it, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

That's all for now! Don't forget, Game Feedback helps us keep Atlantis fun and functional!
-A Lost City Mods

Since we've had so many new players and new characters arrive in the past couple of months, it's time for everyone to get to know each other a little better! And so, in the spirit of such an effort, we present you with the following meme!

TEN FACTS MEME

The rules are simple:

- Post a comment for each of your characters!
-
Include ten (or more!) facts about them that other people might not know.
- Nothing is too insignificant! Every detail offers some kind of insight.
- Seek out people for new CR, make new friends!

Welcome to Dragon Season!

You're in for a dangerous and terrifying few weeks, Atlantis. I hope you enjoyed your vacation while it lasted because HERE THERE BE DRAGONS. And he's not the friendly sort our current local dragons happen to be.

Atlantis Weeks 13-16

The Wrath of Olympus
Week 13 - ??
Week 13 has arrived, and with it, a horror is about to be unleashed that will change the face of the island forever. The Bull Dragon (Reign of Fire) that has been sleeping in the base of Mt. Olympus has awoken, and with him, hell on Atlantis has been unleashed. This massive flying beast breathes fire and eats ash. The chemicals it secretes from its mouth ignite on exhale for a powerful flame, and it's skin is like armor. It rules the sky, sees great in the day and even better at night. It only lives to burn.

IF YOU R CHARACTER LIVES IN OURANOS... our apologies. The dragon will be claiming the Ouranos summit as its new home. Ouranos will burn, and nearly everything within that district with it.  If you have questions, or want to know more, make full use of the comment headers below! This is a VERY PLAYER ACTIVE Event. The Dragon WILL be alive and undefeated for the first week, but what happens after that is up to how interactions with [personal profile] fireandash go and where you guys take it. Quinn ( [personal profile] sawthefirst ) and Creedy ([personal profile] whitejediknight ) are familiar with this beast and might be able to offer insight to others. There will be a log for the Dragon that goes up after his awakening in week 13, and a second log in week 14. Feel free to participate in this as much or as little as you like.

OURANOS is also known as the farm district. I.e. it is the source for almost all of Atlantis' non seafood meats and produce and it is being burned to the ground. Not living in Ouranos does not mean your character is unaffected. This event is going to massively change the face of Atlantis AND set back the growing season. Food will be scarce and the Atlanteans will be convinced the wrath of the gods is upon them. Things do not just 'reset' to normal when/if the dragon is killed. This is still a very real problem

Special Attention to this for the following people who live in Ouranos:
The Hale House
Adam and Elisabeth
Creedy and Quinn
William Lawedre
Jefferson and Grace
France
Merlin and Balinor
These residences may be burned to the ground. Unless you wish to opt out.

As we are a game with no Activity Check, we rely on the players to let us know when/if they decide to stop playing a character. The best place to do so is on this post here.

Just fill out the form below and we'll remove them from the game so someone else can potentially pick them up in the future if they like!

Thank you~

You heard that right, Atlanteans. There is an all new community for the ALC RPG. We introduce you to A Lost Network [community profile] alostnetwork

Facebook  Connect: Connect with your friends, update your status. Spam the like button.
(Complain about the lack of dislike button)

Twitter Echo: 117 character limit. Retweet echo your friends, stalk your idols. #tagyourposts

Tumblr Wavesurfr: Reblog all the things. Post macros and funny pictures

This In Character Community exists for the sole purpose of social networking with your characters. Facebook, Tumbler, Twitter. You name it, it's there. Please remember that this is an In Character Network and anything your character posts or says on this network is considered game canon.

I hope you will have a lot of fun with this Community and that it will lead to some fun and interesting new CR for everyone.

If your character doesn't know about social media or understand how it works? Make use of that! Make accidental posts, mess things up. Ask for help. There are plenty of modern 'tech-savvy' characters on the island who could conceivably create new CR with your characters by teaching them how to use this fun new tool.

We hope you enjoy this community!

Welcome to Fishing Season!

With the fishing season upon Atlantis at last, the city is going to be bursting with activity, both at the docks and the city center itself. For the next four weeks the ocean will be full of ships of all shapes and sizes out trying to make the most of the flood of fish filling the bay. Atlantean's have the next two weeks off for 'Spring Break' when it comes to school, and all the young Atlantean's will be making use of the time to fill the beach. The youngest children flying kites (shaped like various legendary Atlantean beasts) with their parents or building sand castles and playing Sand Leviathan, while older kids and teens will be out enjoying the warm bay waters and playing beach sports of various types. It's an active and productive time for Atlantean adults who fill their time stocking the markets, handling at the docks and offering their animals for help with fish carts. The city roads will be busy, with carts pulled by everything from island horses and goats to chocobos and hogs.

The weather is fantastic and everyone seems overall very happy, if a bit hectic. There will be plenty of jobs around for anyone looking to work, and the more venturesome individuals will find this is SPECTACULAR trading time. In addition to fish, some of the larger docking boats will be unloading crates full of fabrics and raw materials. If asked where they got them, most captains will shrug or claim to have fished them from the sea. It is difficult to guess at their origins and no one is very forthcoming with information.

Atlantean's do not celebrate April Fool's, so the month of April holds little significance to them beyond being spring time and the celebration of Gaia. Still... there may be some chaos in store for the future...

Atlantis Weeks 9-12

As far as plots go, the next few weeks have some pretty heavy NPC plot going on that will show up throughout the weeks. Look for a lot of activity from the Atlantean's themselves. A Beach and Docks log will go up at the start of Week 9, and a Market log between weeks 9 and 10 as well as several NPC posts related to the plot. Interacting with the NPC posts is highly encouraged as it will help determine how and where things go the next few weeks, but is not required!

Week 12 is especially relevant to our growing cast of werewolves, as well as to any star-gazers or astronomers.

Gabriel's Fools
Atlantean's may not celebrate April fools, but a certain trickster does. Week 11 is going to be full of pranks becoming real, chaotic weather, crazy shenanigans and a moon that appears to be made out of cheese. Is it really? Who can say?

Look for more information on this plot to come around the end of Week 10. Details are still in process

Week 9:
3/17 - 3/23
Warm Spring Weather and Sunny skies with fair winds
The temperature will be in the 77-86F ~ 25-30C range
The night sky will feature:

An orange-red tinged moon and Earth constellations (Spring, Western Hemisphere - Equatorial)
Full moon on Wednesday

Week 10:
3/24 - 3/30
Warm Spring Weather and Sunny skies with strong winds
The temperature will be in the 80-86F ~ 26.5-35C range
The night sky will feature:

An orange-red tinged moon and Earth constellations (Spring, Western Hemisphere - Equatorial)

Week 11:
3/31 - 4/6
Weather - ???
The temperature will be in the ??F ~ ??C range
The night sky will feature: ???

Sunday Cheese Moon is not a Full moon.

Week 12:
4/7 - 4/13
Warm Spring Weather and Sunny skies with fair winds
The temperature will be in the 77-86F ~ 25-30C range
The night sky will feature:

Four moons, with two in the sky Sun-Tuesday and a different two Wed-Friday. Just one moon on Saturday
As far as our werewolves are concerned this entire week is full of full moons with varying effects. The smallest moon Sunday-Tuesday being farthest away and 'weak' while the small orange moon the remaining four days will act as a sort of 'catnip for wolves'. Happy-high werewolves will be acting like over-grown puppies. The sky will be full of many very bright stars.

Hello again, Atlantis! As your mods, we want to make sure everyone is equally able to keep up to speed with the game, upcoming plots, plotting and everything that is going on! Feel free to use this post to plot, plan, mingle, ask questions, request NPC CR and whatever else you'd like.

Previously, we had chosen to do plotting posts every two weeks, noting various effects from the island. However, we realize that with the size and speed of the game, it would be better to spread things out a bit. We're going to try to do things in blocks of four weeks, so everyone can see the weather forecast for the upcoming weeks and has plenty of time to plot for events/island shenanigans when they come around, which should be roughly once a month. Events will also be lasting a bit longer to allow everyone to get more mileage out of them, rather than having to backdate or handwave things.

In the wake of Full Moon Fever and the Valentine's Day festivities, the next couple of weeks will be reasonably peaceful and uneventful, though stay tuned for an event to be announced for weeks 7 & 8.

Week 5
Slightly cloudy and cool.
The temperature will be in the 60-65F ~15-18C range
The night sky will feature: Unfamiliar star patterns.

Also, the market is open! Take the opportunity to visit, explore and meet new people!

Week 6
Tropical and sunny.
The temperature will be in the 80F ~ 27C range and humid, with no sign of ill weather.
The night sky will feature: Earth's constellations.

Week 7
Cold and overcast.
We'll be paying for that week of sun. Temperatures will hover around 48F/8C and dip lower at night. There will be heavy rain throughout the week.
The night sky will feature: Unfamiliar constellations, with two moons waning their way to crescent.

Week 8
Warm and sunny with scattered showers.
Temperatures will be around 72F/22C during the day and pleasantly cool at night.
The night sky will feature: Earth's constellations, though unseasonable, appropriate for late spring.

Each time this thread goes up it will have a series of sub threads for plotting purposes!

As your mods, we want  to make sure everyone is equally able to keep up to speed with the game, upcoming plots, plotting and everything that is going on! So, ALC will have bi-weekly plotting posts that give everyone a bit of an idea of what to expect, a place to plan out CR interactions or plot with one another, a way to find some NPC CR if you want it and an idea of what is going on around the island.

This is our very first one of those posts so it is going to have a bit more information in it than they generally will. I will try to make sure these go up every other weekend. If people have input on when the best day for it is, let me know. Fridays so you get the whole weekend to plan is my idea for the moment. So, here we go!

Atlantis Week 3&4

The wave of new Transplants is settling down, with the NPCs still keeping an eye on them. Hull will be spending most of his time around the Town Centre and can be approached by anyone.

As the sun sets on Sunday, the second sun will be noticeably missing, the sky will darken with the sun set and a full moon will rise. During Week 3 the Southern Shore will be flooded. New arrivals will find themselves washed up in the streets of Gaia, near the Town  Centre. Atlanteans will be restless and snappy, small domestic disputes will be common around the city, along with small acts of vandalism. Most Atlantean city dwellers will be apologetic after the week ends.

The following week will be perfect weather, beautiful and sunny through the entire week. Hull will post a network notice that the Atlantean Fisher Fleet is recruiting. Your characters are welcome to try for the job. They'll take any willing hand and find a job for them.

Full Moon Fever
Week 3 (Feb 3-10)
There have long been legends of the full moon driving people mad.  Crime rates spike, domestic violence breaks out, some even claim it causes men to howl and shed their skins to join the wild beasts. While the legends can range into the absurd, there is always some truth to the myths, and never is it more obvious than now. A noticeably large, bright full moon will rise on Sunday. Even with the cloudy skies the moon's luminous reflection is visible. With the moon's unnaturally bright light, a sickness will spread, notable at first only as a mild fever. However, as the fever rises, people's inner beasts will shine through. Repressed urges get pushed forward, primal instincts and desires come to the forefront. All around the island tempers run short, unexpectedly powerful emotions are acted upon. Or maybe you just have the urge to stuff your face with food and drink too much. However the moon's rays affect you, the fever will be gone by the time the second full moon sets on Saturday.

People aren't the only thing the moon is affecting this week. Sunday, waters will rise. The southern shore will flood, boats untied to the docks may float out to sea, and the lower portion of Gaia will be flooded. The waters will be slow to recede from the city, lingering until the end of Week 3. By Sunday afternoon (the start of Week 4) the water will have returned to its normal depths.

I put a spell on you

Player plot!
Week 3 | Feb 12-15

During Week 4, the Marauding Magic Shop will be attempting to spread some Valentine spirit through the island. Enchanted love letters, magical roses and a variety of other 'mostly harmless' spells will begin to find their way across the island. Another post will go up for this from the players behind the plot next weekend. Safe to say, though, that love will be quite literally, in the air.

Week 3:
Slightly cloudy and cool
The temperature will be in the 60-65F ~15-18C range
The night sky will feature: Unfamiliar star patterns.
When the 'normal' Sunday sun sets, a full moon will rise instead of the second sun

The moon will wane at a rapid rate from Sunday to Wednesday.
No moon on Thursday and Friday, and another full moon on Saturday

Week 4:
Sunny and pleasant
The temperature will be in the 65-75F ~ 18-24C range
The night sky will feature: Earth skies
Southern Hemisphere Star patterns and normal lunar waning cycle (Waning down from Saturday's full moon.)
