Weeks 1 & 2

As your mods, we want to make sure everyone is equally able to keep up to speed with the game, upcoming plots, plotting and everything that is going on! So, ALC will have bi-weekly plotting posts that give everyone a bit of an idea of what to expect, a place to plan out CR interactions or plot with one another, a way to find some NPC CR if you want it and an idea of what is going on around the island.

This is our very first one of those posts so it is going to have a bit more information in it than they generally will. I will try to make sure these go up every other weekend. If people have input on when the best day for it is, let me know. Fridays so you get the whole weekend to plan is my idea for the moment. So, here we go!

Atlantis Week 1&2

With a larger number of transplants arriving on Atlantis than this island has seen in centuries, the natives are going to be very curious about everyone who has shown up. Atlanteans are pretty normal people, all things considered, They are welcoming of new people and will gladly show your characters around or help them find places to live, things to eat. After all, you're all one of them now. Feel free to NPC Atlantean natives as you like. Just know they will react negatively to violence as any normal human being.

There will not be much in the way of events/plots these first two weeks. Just a lot of settling in. Feel free to wander and explore as your character likes, try to escape, be confused, etc.

Atlantis is a wandering island. It never stays anywhere for long. As such the climate and the sky are unpredictable and change often. each of these bi-weekly reports will have a section on "Weather" detailing what your characters can expect.

Week 1:
Tropical and Sunny
The temperature will be in the 80F ~ 27C range and humid with scattered showers throughout the week
The night sky will feature strange, unknown constellations not familiar to any planet, but an earth-like moon ranging from quarter to half full and waxing.

Week 2:
Tropical and Sunny
The temperature has gone up a few degrees, now in the high 90s F to low 30s C the showers are gone and there are no clouds in sight. Natives will be keeping to their homes and avoiding the Suns- wait were there always two?
There is no 'night' during week 2. As the larger yellow sun sets in the south, a smaller, orange sun will rise in the north. Temperatures will drop back down to the 80F/27C range when the smaller sun is out.

Each time this thread goes up it will have a series of sub threads for plotting purposes!

Week 1 - Billy is being rescued by John Downs and taken to medical help.

Week 2 - Is it possible Billy runs into Downs in the rainforest?

Week 1 - We can probably handwave this, but she'll definitely be having some in-depth discussions with Hull about the island and how things work here!

Week 2 - Anita will still probably be Organization Girl at this point and will be keeping the lines of communication very open between herself and Hull while the transplants get settled.

Handwaving, or discussing, I am for either. I believe I will be putting up a log for Town Centre in a few moments for Anita and Charles to meet up with Hull. He will help get the word out to their friends/fellows and offer some advice and assistance in settling in.

Anita stepped forward and as such, has branded herself a leader in Hull's eyes. He will want to keep a close eye on her in the coming weeks until he can be certain she is not trying to rally a revolt.

Perfect! I was going to bring that up in a few, actually, but as usual, you are on top of things!

That sounds like a lot of fun potential for friction, to me! Anita... does that. >.> This is why she's always in trouble, she can't keep her mouth shut, her opinions to herself, or keep from getting involved in everyone's business.

Planning on going swimming in the ocean? Checking out the Ruins? Wandering the rainforest or mountains? Braving the caverns? If you want an idea of what your character will encounter, have ideas or just want some confirmation of what's around town, comment here. We're happy to plot with and work with you!

Billy is going to be slipping away into the rainforest, convinced he is still on some strange part of Isla Sorna. He'll be wandering through the wilderness searching for Dr. Grant.

It is very likely Billy will only be futher convinced of his assumptions when his exploration of the rainforest presents him with a familiar face. Say hello to Sally, Billy. If you are quiet and quick, she will be too distracted getting a drink of water to notice you. Try not to draw attention to yourself before she moves on.

Connor will be spending some time exploring the rainforest and seeing what sort of creatures live there! He's used to wild terrain and all kinds of nasty life-threatening fauna, so hell want to familiarize himself with the "locals," so to speak.

Aside from potentially running into Sally, Connor will want to avoid the brightly colored blue and purple flowers that grow on the thin green vines covering some of the trees, deeper into the rainforest. They shoot needles when movement too near triggers the sensors on their petals. The blue flowers have a mild paralytic, the purple ones are poisonous. For some of the creatures he may stumble across, you can check out the more common rainforest inhabitants here

Reply here with any plans you have for week 1 & 2, interactions you would like, a summary of what your characters will be up to. Anything you like. This thread is for you to plan with your game-mates, set down an idea for yourself, or just talk about the weeks events.

Basically, use it for anything you like, and to help yourself figure out what is going on in game.

Remus Lupin is going to be studying the island, the stars, and keeping an eye out for other witches and wizards. Also potentially keeping an eye on Sirius, Harry and Hermione in alternating periods. Beyond this anyone is welcome to stumble on the Marauding Magic shop.

Tony Stark is going to do some fly over scouting of the island and end up back on the shore with sand in his suit on at least three separate occasions. This in addition to figuring out the island is NOT New Moore should keep him occupied. Anyone who wants to see him flying about or poke at him I encourage it. When he's not doing that he'll be looking for a place for the Avengers to make temporary ~~home~~ base and being really relieved Bruce isn't an amnesiac. (And Peggy. Because it reassures him he isnt losing it). By week 2 he'll be completely off balance as far as knowing what is going on.

Billy Brennan washed up, injured, on the shore. He was (will be) found by Marshall Downs and be spending Week 1 recuperating in the (Hospital) and clinging with a vice grip to Dr. Grant's hat. Week 2 he'll be dashing off into the rainforest trying to find Dr. Grant.

Charles Xavier will be helping Anita try to organize people and find out who is here, get everyone a place to stay and figure out what to do.

Ianto and Creedy are up for grabs for any plot ideas or CR development anyone wants. Creedy will be searching out alcohol when he figures out Quinn isn't here.

I think Raven will be shadowing big brother a lot! She's not comfortable straying too far from him right now, and will be assisting people with settling in as well, while he and Anita are busy leading the charge. Anita, of course, will be all about being proactive with these sorts of things.

Connor and Billy should meet during their rainforest adventures! Connor will also be checking in with Creedy, because Creedy is already family. Especially when Creedy starts drinking, he may come to keep him company a bit.

All right, here we go!

Anita is currently working with Charles to try and get everyone organized. She's a do-er, so she'll be going out of her way to make sure that other transplants who have shown up are safe and getting settled in properly. She'll also be trying to parse together information about the island based on observation and what she might learn from Admiral Hull.

Connor will be out exploring the rainforest at some point! He'll also be wanting to keep very close tabs on Alisha and Rose, and check in with Sirius and Creedy at some point? His new family is important to him.

Raven is mostly shadowing Charles at the moment, she's nervous about letting him out of her sight because of the recent changes. She'll also be keeping an eye on Sam, since he is one the people from home that she's closest to. She'll be pretty social with other new arrivals and be doing her best to assist Charles and Anita in their efforts to get people settled, so she will likely be out and about as well as on the network trying to assist people!

Snow/Mary Margaret is really getting damn tired of all of this world-hopping, but she'll be putting as bright a spin on it as possible. Considering the people here that she knows from her world are Regina and Jefferson, she's going to be on edge, but she'll also be doing her part to help people get settled where she can. Anyone who knew her before coming here to Atlantis? you're in luck, because Snow White is one hell of a survivalist... not that she needs those skills much in the city, but if anyone happens to wander out into the wilderness and find themselves in trouble, she'd be a good one to call.

Snape is being his usual unpleasant self while touching base with other Harry Potter cast members, but he's open for just about anything else. He'll be pretty solitary as he gets himself settled, but also will be wanting to look into as much of the history of this place as he possibly can, so he will be doing some information digging where possible. He may continue trolling Dudley because it's hilarious. Also, he's got 99 problems and Marauders are all of them.

Thor will be assisting Tony and the rest of the Avengers (plus Peggy and Darcy!) however he may be able, although at present, his focus is finding Loki. They haven't spoken to each other yet, but he is convinced that Loki is here on the island as well, and wants to find him before any of the other Avengers get a chance to. Little brother is priority #1. He's open for all kinds of CR, though, of course!

Darla is wandering a bit aimlessly and will be getting used to the city/finding her feet. She's not in the greatest mental state at the moment, and her health is failing more than she'd like to admit, so that's going to need to be addressed soon -- though at the moment, there are no visible symptoms. She seems relatively healthy, and for the most part, stable. She, like Snape, will be doing some digging for information, because she's the kind of girl who only feels comfortable depending on herself, and forewarned is definitely forearmed. If anyone wants to get involved with this manipulative trainwreck of a woman, come at me, I'm all for it.

If and when Snape looks into potions, Hull will be very interested in learning more. He may even share some of his own concoctions in exchange for a brief overview of Potions. This is a science and not a magic in his eyes and as such, his curiosity about it will be sparked.

I hadn't even though about that! Severus would tend to agree, there's nothing magical about potions themselves, though the ingredients may be mystical. It's an exact art, as well as a science. <3

Who I think will have his facemask removed, a new thingie that he doesn't quite know how to use (but will figure out, he's smart!) and has people to avoid.

I think he'll be fitting in exploring somewhere in there too.

She is, indeed, human! She's harassing Dr. McKay at the moment, or is about to be. But yes, human, taken just before the big crack-up from "Darla," because I want to play with that. >.>

Is she getting healed?

One way or another, she eventually will be. If all else fails, Admiral Hull is a master of science-fu and has Atlantean technology and medicine available to him, so that is a definite option, but if something comes up with player characters that could work, too, I am game for anything/everything.

I might find a way to make her a vampire later on if there's an opportunity, but I didn't want to have to have her living inside all of the time, either -- especially when we have weeks that are all sun, all the time.

Makes sense... and well, I'm sure there are people with enough magic wandering around to do some heals.

Also, you don't have to! D: I didn't bring her just to lure Lindsey, I do legitimately want her to muck around in a game and do some serious manipulating somewhere. And I still have that meme tag open. *cries* It's been a hectic couple of days, getting things set up.

But yes, meeting Loki would be interesting. I think Loki would be intrigued by her... if he's not snarking.

Really, take your time. It's not like I have a time limit on when meme tags are open. XD

If he does snark, she'll snark right back, anyway, it could be amusing!

Yeah... she would. Which will endear her to him, I think.

If people tag me, I will reply. It might take me a bit longer if I'm not inspired, but I generally will.

Sam is going to do everything he can to help/find out as much as he can about Atlantis and try figuring out how they got there. (Angels?) So he'll be talking to the locals. That can be handwaved unless someone wants to throw an NPC at him. He'll also try checking in with people he knows. Once things die down he'll look into enrolling at the university.

Prussia will be doing whatever he feels like basically. A lot of his time will be spent exploring and putting his "Bierdar" to good use.

Grace will find herself back at school because learning long division is important for some reason. She'll try visiting Anita because she's nice and to play with Mindy. She needs to visit Marauding Magic Shop at some point too.

But really, I'm down for anything \o/

Raven would like to help, if she can! All she really wants right now is to make herself useful while things get sorted out.

Also, Justine (NPC!) would love to get in touch with Sam, since her interests lie with magic and the supernatural!

He'll have to talk to her sometime soon then. I'm sure their conversation will be interesting.

Buffy Summers will do things the hard way and even though she will be monitoring the communications closely, she isn't about to take anyone's word on anything. She'll be talking up the locals and keeping an eye out for anything vampy or mystical. I'd love to build up some CR, despite the fact that she's a little distrusting of everyone at the moment. I'd like to see how her personality meshes with the group.

Darcy Lewis will let the "grown ups" (she doesn't entirely think of herself as an adult) take care of the how and why and will be trying to make the most out of her situation. She'll probably develop a special passion for bartering once she realizes money isn't that important here and will be looking for a nice place to crash. She talks when she's nervous, so she'll probably be talking a lot and generally pretending not to be as freaked out as she is.

Ron Weasley will be arriving and immediately searching for Hermione and Harry. Most likely he won't stray very far from them when he finds them, though he will advocate for them to go exploring the island and finding as much out about it as they can. He also will most likely be struggling with some of the technology.

Steve Rogers will be trying to process the fact that his past and present are meeting in one place, which will probably lead to long stretches of time in Peggy's company and plenty of time on his own to think things through - probably in the form of exploration. He will try to be as helpful to others as possible and if he sees a need will act to meet it. He'll also be hitting up the locals for information and trying to figure out exactly how all of this is possible. He is also fairly new to this level of technology and while he's had some prepping, may struggle a little.

Steeeve. Help Tony find the Avengers a place to stay. (Darcy can come too if she wants to. Tony would love to hear all about the time she tasered Thor.)

Also I am so going to throw some people at Buffy later, aside from Billy, who will think she is awesome when he's done recovering from being a dino-chew toy.

I hope Harry brings Ron around to Remus and Sirius' shop so Remus can meet him!

I'm going to go ahead and assume that Darcy is helping Thor learn to use his phone a bit while we settle in? <3

I want ALL of the Anita and Buffy CR/butting heads, and I also think she and Raven would get along really well.
