Weeks 25 & 26: The Tribute Games
Important Game Wide Announcement!
Atlantis is switching over to 2:1 Time from here on Out.
One In Character Week now takes place over Two Out of Character Weeks.
Trials and Tribulations
The Tribute Games have come, and set the island back to a time of ritual and sacrifice.
Will you keep your head low, or fight the oncoming tribute.
Events of note of the past four weeks:
NPCs
Kronos
epanastatis was deliberately a dick to a lot of people.
Dex the Raptor
dexignated has joined the Fleet, ground division, separate to Hull.
Witt, among those to die during the spread of the virus, unexpectedly returned with the batch of transports whose deaths were not permanent.
Atlantis
The Croatoan virus took a heavy toll on the natural population as well. All in all, the island's population was cut in half during the virus, and after the return of many of the deceased transplants, the population is still down by almost 1/4th what it was. For the first time in years there is a considerable bit of disgruntled murmuring among the natives and not so friendly stares in the direction of the transplants.
The First Atlantean Hospital, the Justice Center, The Libraries of Atlantis, Elektronik's Emporium and the Atlantean Fleets (Air, Aquarian and Gaian) are all still hiring, among many other places that lost employees in the terrible virus.
Reminder that the underground caverns have some new inhabitants. We recommend you take a flashlightand a blowtorch if you plan to explore.
Atlantis Weeks 25 & 26
A Tribute to the Gods
Trials and Tribulations
Week 25-26
A little after Helios has put the sun to rest for the night on Sunday, a change will sweep the island. It won't be noticeable, really, until Monday morning (7/9). Because the buildings, technology and transplants all remain untouched, but strangely, when the morning comes, the island is positively brimming with native Atlanteans. Most would be unfamiliar faces to those who have been here a while, though the familiar figure heads remain. It seems as if the island is at the peak of it's days. The skies are crystal clear when the sun rises and everyone is smiling. The only spot of darkness is the thin trail of smoke coming from the allegedly dormant Mt. Olympus.
Despite the cheerful faces, however, the island is quiet. The people go about their work without speaking and if you try to speak with any of the natives, their eyes will go wide and they will shake their heads and move away. Make a game of it, if you want, though some of the younger children may run away, and the older men may get aggressive.
As night falls on Monday (7/10), lanterns go up, covered in symbols of ancient Greek and Atlantean mingled together, with quite a few they do not appear to be quite either. A massive banquet will be laid out for any who wish to join, and the spell of silence will be broken with laughter and song, jokes and warm conversation. The banquet will continue to be set well into the dawning hours, with a good crowd sticking it out. And as the sun rises over the bay, the Natives will bow their heads in silence and then wander back to their homes.
Tuesday morning (7/11) will see the island a virtual ghost town. No one but transplants roam the streets. Window shutters are shut, doors closed, shops closed as well. The only natives wandering the streets will have somber faces and ignore any who try to interact with them completely. To the point of allowing themselves to be attacked. Their faces painted a vivid, bright blue, and their dress nothing but simple tunics. Plain, beige and unremarkable.
These are the servants of the Gods, and to interfere with their work is to declare your disdain for the very beings responsible for the livelihood of the island.
What they are doing is unclear, until high noon. Anyone out on the streets when the sun is at its highest point will find one of these silent servants suddenly invading their space. A single touch of the hand is all it takes, and no matter who you are, be it young student trying to go for a walk, or highly advanced super computer in an impenetrable shell of metal, you will find yourself whisked away in a gust of wind that forces your eyes to close. Open them, and you will find yourself standing among others in a clearing, deep within the island's treacherous rainforest.
But there's a far deeper catch to this than sudden an unpleasant displacement. You are now a champion of the gods. on your arm rests a bracelet with the symbols of one of the Greek Gods or Goddesses, a light weight material that has no seams and fits close to the skin. Beige for Gaia District, Dusty blue for Ouranos District, and Slate black for Kronos district. The bracelet only matters to the point of which God or Goddess of the island has chosen to favor your character. The other symbols could have another meaning, but you will not have much time to dwell on that.
Because after an address from the Servants of the Gods, you will learn what is in store for you. A game of tribute, to chose the champion of the Gods. The bracelets will keep any who have been pulled into the games withing the forest, and any attempts to leave will have unpleasant consequences for whoever dares to try it.
There is only one rule in the tribute games, kill or be killed. Refusal to participate will mean a far slower and more painful death for those who refuse and any who stand with them.
The incentive? The favor of the Gods.
No small token to be trifled with, for the Gods control the island and everything on it. They are the ones who choose who comes, and who goes. Survive the games, emerge victorious, and the world is at your fingertips. Lose the games, and only death will wait you.
Gods are vengeful creatures whose tempers are quite literally the stuff of legends.
You would be wise not to piss them off, for a simple death would be a mercy. Weapons are scattered through the rainforest, and the people as well. Kill or be killed is the law of the Rainforest, and you are not the only one playing. The only way out is to fight your way out, and it is not only your opponent you have to survive.
After all, the Rainforest has never been a safe place. And it isn't going to start now.
Do your plotting in this post.

Rose Marie's brigade
Alisha is still recovering from the shock of mentally living her canon death, so she'll be in and out of Plaid less. Come time for the games, she might not be in at all, with Connor and Simon stuck as tribute. She's gonna need a hug
except she cannot have any /sob.Milo will depend on what happens with Kida, though I think he might throw himself into studying the gods either way; if she IS tribute, then he'll probably be flipping out too badly to really pay much attention to what he's reading. I'm kind of tempted to have him try to stage a rescue mission to get those in the games out. Somehow. Not that it's possible, but he'd probably like to try.
Baby Doll, I wanted to throw in the games, but seeing as it's difficult to jump between her voice and Merida's (and the fact her daemon is a dragon and that's hardly fair), I'm opting to keep her out of it. She'll be around, not at all happy with the gods or the games, and might try to go explore temples and whatnot to learn more about what the transplants are facing. If anyone isn't busy fighting to the death, she'd be happy to have company along; after all, there's safety in numbers.
Carrie will be hiding, feeling terrible for those fighting but unable to bring herself to do anything to stop it or help them. What else is new. Also, she'd like a job at one of the libraries, so I should probably get on that.
Ivy will do whatever Hull wants her to. :3c
Rapunzel is going to be absolutely horrified by everything, and though she won't be in reach of people, she'll offer to heal anyone if somehow they can escape or if they return to the living with injuries.
Manda
ANNABETH will obviously be thrown into the games because she's punching Kronos and he's a dick.
CLINT will also be in the games. Because that's his life. And I haven't fucked with him nearly enough.
JAMES will NOT be in the games, though I'm tempted to throw him in because KID. Though he'll be upset that Merida is in there.
Sansa what. This girl will just. no. lol
Allison will not be thrown in, though I really should! There's no definite plans for her at the moment.
I also have three new characters that I haven't introed yet, who are Matt Murdock/Daredevil from the MCU, Kevin Tran from Supernatural, and Lucas Hunter who is my evil evil OC. They should be introed sometime this week, hopefully!

He'll be all sorts of into trying to devise a plan to break all those kids (and grown adults I guess) out of the rainforest, though. And he's going to keep this anger towards the gods for a very, very, very long time.

Stiles is going into the games. He doesn't have any violent skills but he is pretty savvy and knows a lot about survival from what he learned at his other game from Derek/what he learned from reading on the internet and watching too much Bear Grylls. He's definitely not going to make it to the end, because he's most likely (as long as we're still down with this, Kimmie!) going to die protecting Lydia. :3c
Bran IS ALSO GOING IN THE GAMES BECAUSE I'M A TERRIBLE PERSON. My poor handicapped baby is in a wheelchair. So. I can't imagine he'll survive long. 8'D
And my last tribute is Leo Valdez, a new baby from the PJO/Heroes of Olympus series fame. Of my three he's probably the most likely to do well! And he's a son of Hephaestus, if that makes any difference. 8')
The rest of my bbs will be out and about doing things, protesting, screaming over their loved ones dying
again if you're Mariusand generally trying to avoid this nightmare. If anyone wants anyone specific definitely let me know.I'M SO READY FOR THIS AWFULNESS 8D ♥

Enjolras isn't going to be happy about this and prooobably try to find a way to stop it from the inside or something. Not entirely sure yet :l9 Totally okay with him being killed though.
Remmy HAS KINDA BEEN IN THESE KILL OR BE KILLED SITUATIONS BEFORE
thanks air warsSO HE'LL PROBABLY DO A DECENT JOB SURVIVING. But won't really like the situation. I also feel like he's going to end up looking out for any kids he comes across that get pulled into the game... Totally okay with him getting killed too.I got to intro Gyda but she'll prooobably have no idea what's going on. Still also gotta think of what I'm doing with Dorothy.
