 Since we've had so many new players and new characters arrive in the past couple of months, it's time for everyone to get to know each other a little better! And so, in the spirit of such an effort, we present you with the following meme!

Baby Doll

1. Though the cut version of the movie shows only one bullet, the uncut reveals she actually shot her step-father's gun twice. The first one missed and hit a pipe; the second shot through the step-father's hand and into her sister's chest. In her desperate attempt to save her only remaining family member, she caused her death.
2. It's never explained why, but when Baby Doll dances, all men in the room become transfixed by it. It's unknown whether or not Baby is actively aware of how she moves, as her mind drifts into daydreams of violent fantasy worlds.
3. The katana in her daydreams is engraved with the story of her life, as told through symbolic images.
4. Before Madame Gorski discovered her ability to dance, Baby did menial work behind the scenes for the Lennox "brothel," such as collecting towels/laundry from the dancers, standing backstage in case Gorski needed her to run emergency errands, and washing customers' dishes.
5. She's would have been only dancer to have ever successfully broken out of Lennox; however, she gave up her chance of physical freedom to allow her friend, Sweet Pea, to escape; instead of risking going with, she distracted the men in front of the gate.
6. It's revealed in canon that she's 20 years old. Most of her real name is exposed too, though the writing is illegible. If anyone's curious, I have the screenshot as the header in Baby's journal!
7. Baby lived in Brattleboro, Vermont, in the early 1960's.
8. In the original story, Baby Doll was wrongly lobotomized; the signature needed to authorized the procedure was forged.
9. Though she comes off as normal for the most part, due to the vivid, detailed content of her daydreams and the intense impact on her perception of reality, it's hard to say just how mentally stable she truly, technically is.
10. With no hesitation, she pulled the cook's own knife on him when he tried to assault one of the other dancers. Though she's small and looks fragile, she has a strong spirit and an even stronger sense of what she finds "right" and "wrong."
